Podcasting punishes different mistakes than video does. Bad audio loses listeners in the first minute and no amount of editing fully repairs it, so the recording platform matters more than the editor. The fix is local recording: each participant captured at full quality on their own machine and uploaded afterwards, rather than the compressed version that survived the call.
