How a review gets made.

01

Every page states how it was assessed

Every review receives editorial evaluation and carries an evidence status: editorially reviewed, hands-on reviewed, or research preview. Hands-on reviewed is reserved for documented product use; research previews await deeper evaluation.

02

Scores are editorial, and relative to the category

A 7.5 in video editing means something different from a 7.5 in newsletters. We score against the other tools we cover in that room, not against an abstract ideal — and we label the number an editorial score wherever it is one.

03

Partners never see reviews first

Affiliate relationships change what we earn, never what we write. Vendors get no preview, no edits, and no veto.

04

Reviews get revisited, not archived

Every review carries a last-updated date. When a tool ships a big change or a price hike, we go back in and update the verdict.

05

We say who should skip it

Each review has an 'avoid if' line. If a tool is wrong for you, the fastest way we can help is to say so.

06

Corrections happen in public

Got something wrong? Tell us and we'll fix it in public, with the change noted on the review.

"No vendor sees a review before you do. No commission has ever moved a score."
