Spectral De-noise and De-reverb are the marquee features, and they earn the hype. We took a voice memo recorded in a tiled bathroom — genuinely, an interviewee's emergency backup location — and De-reverb brought it to a usable, if not perfect, state that would have been unrecoverable with standard EQ and gating.
Spectral Repair, which lets you literally paint over a click or a cough on the spectrogram and have the software reconstruct the audio underneath, borders on magic when it works, though it does occasionally produce a slightly synthetic-sounding patch on longer damaged sections.
The honest caveat: for routine weekly podcast cleanup with decent mics in a treated room, RX is overkill both in cost and complexity — Hindenburg or Auphonic will get you there faster. RX earns its price the day disaster strikes and there's no re-recording the interview.
