Why creators leave Riverside.

The workflow tax is the honest first reason. Local recording means every participant's files upload after the session, and on a long episode with a guest on slow broadband that's a wait before you can start editing — occasionally an anxious one if someone closes the tab early.

Should you actually switch?

If you record remote guests regularly and get paid for the show, staying is usually correct — a single lost or unusable episode costs more than a year of the difference in subscription price, and that protection is what you're buying.

Switch if your pain is elsewhere. Editing time is the most common real bottleneck, and that points at Descript, not another recorder.
