Restream is the multistreaming relay to pick if you already have a production setup you like. Point OBS, Streamlabs or any encoder at it, and it forwards your stream to several platforms while pulling the chats back into one window. It also has its own browser studio. Our read of the pricing page: it is the cheapest route to three or more platforms, with two catches that matter for creators who repurpose everything, a 720p studio on entry plans and recordings that expire.
What it does well
Multistreaming is the product, and the plans scale by channel count: 2 on Free, 3 on Standard, 5 on Professional and 8 on Business. StreamYard's free plan doesn't multistream at all; Restream's sends to two channels for $0 (see our livestreaming guide for free desktop options). Restream says it can reach more than 30 platforms, and custom RTMP covers anything with a stream key.
The relay model is the real advantage. Restream's pricing FAQ says that when you stream from your own software there is no resolution restriction, only the 720p/1080p limit inside its own Studio. So an OBS user on the $19 Standard plan can send a 1080p stream to three platforms, as long as each platform accepts it.
Chat aggregation is included on every plan, which is the feature you notice most during a show. Professional adds dual format streaming (horizontal to YouTube and vertical to TikTok at once) and 4K recording. Restream Studio supports up to 10 participants, and guests can add their own channels on paid plans. Recordings download as MP4, split-track MKV (Studio recordings only) or M4A audio, and Restream's help center points to a Descript workflow for editing.
Where it falls short
Restream Studio streams at 720p on Free and Standard. If you want a browser studio at 1080p, you need Professional at $49 a month, which costs more than StreamYard Core.
The bigger issue for an owned-media strategy is storage. Restream's help center says recordings are kept 15 days on Standard and Professional and 30 days on Business, and expired recordings cannot be recovered. Free accounts get only a 15-minute recording trial in their first 7 days. Each recording is capped at 6 hours on Standard and 10 hours above it. Treat Restream as a pipe, not an archive.
Add-ons stack. Webinars cost $99 a month for 100 attendees (or $299 for 500 on Business) and clips cost $19 to $59 a month, on top of the plan. Free streams carry Restream branding, either a small watermark or a link in your stream description.
Pricing in practice
Prices are in USD, checked October 10, 2026. Standard is $19 a month or $190 a year. Professional is $49 a month or $470 a year. Business is $239 a month or $2,390 a year with two seats, and extra seats are $25 each per month. Annual billing saves about 20%.
Example: a solo creator streaming from OBS to YouTube, Twitch and LinkedIn, annual billing, list prices on October 10, 2026, no add-ons. Restream Standard costs $190 a year. The same three destinations from a 1080p browser studio would need Professional at $470 a year, or StreamYard Core at $431.88 a year ($35.99 x 12).
Who should pick it (and who shouldn't)
Pick Restream if you produce in OBS or Streamlabs and need a relay, if you want two platforms free, or if three platforms for $19 a month is the whole job. It also suits creators who download and edit every show right after it ends.
Skip it if your show is built around non-technical guests in a browser studio and you want 1080p without paying for Professional, or if you want recordings to stay in the cloud for months. What would change our view: a 1080p Studio on Standard, or longer retention.
Alternatives worth comparing
- StreamYard: the easier browser studio for guest shows, 1080p from Core. Read our StreamYard vs Restream comparison.
- OBS Studio: free encoder that pairs naturally with Restream Free.
- Riverside (visit RiversideAFFILIATE, affiliate): records each guest locally and streams to unlimited destinations on its Grow plan.
- All of these, plus Ecamm Live and Streamlabs, are ranked in our guide to the best livestreaming software for creators.

Creators who already produce in OBS, Streamlabs or another encoder and want one stream relayed to several platforms with chat pulled into one window. — and anyone who wants Restream to do the heavy lifting in this category.
Skip it if you need 1080p from a browser studio on a small budget or want your recordings to sit in the cloud for months. — if that's a dealbreaker, see every video tool we've reviewed.
- Is Restream free?
Yes. The free plan multistreams to two channels at once with Restream branding (a small watermark and/or a link in your stream description). Restream Studio streams at 720p on Free, and free accounts get only a 15-minute recording trial in the first 7 days.
- How much does Restream cost?
Standard is $19 a month or $190 a year, Professional is $49 a month or $470 a year, and Business is $239 a month or $2,390 a year, per Restream's pricing page on October 10, 2026. Webinars and clips are extra add-ons.
- Can I use Restream with OBS?
Yes, and it is the main reason to choose Restream. Send your OBS stream to Restream and it relays to your channels. Restream says streams from your own software have no resolution restriction, unlike its Studio's 720p limit on entry plans.
- How long does Restream keep recordings?
15 days on Standard and Professional, 30 days on Business, according to its help center. Expired recordings cannot be recovered, so download each show soon after it ends.
- Does Restream stream in 1080p?
From Restream Studio, only on Professional and Business. Free and Standard Studio streams are 720p. Streams sent from your own encoder are not capped by Restream.
The cheapest sensible way to multistream, and the best relay for OBS users, as long as you download recordings before the 15-day clock runs out.
