By the end of this tutorial you'll have a social media flyer that started as an AI-generated draft and ended up sounding like you. My example is a flyer for LinkedIn, Upgraded, a workshop I'm running for business owners. AI got me a starting point in seconds. The part that made it work was everything I decided after that.

Question: Carlos, if AI can do 90% of the work, what do we still need you for?
Carlos: Real simple. You still need a human being to tell the AI what to do. Let me show you. This video is sponsored by Adobe Express.
Here's what people get wrong about AI. AI cannot read your mind. AI does not automatically know your brand, your audience, or what you're trying to accomplish. You still have to tell it what you want.
I'm promoting a workshop called LinkedIn, Upgraded, so I needed a flyer that would actually get business owners to pay attention. Adobe Express helped me get started, but I still had to make decisions. I adjusted the design, made the headline stand out, and added a clear Save Your Seat call to action. Then I was able to resize the flyer for LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook without starting over.
AI helped me create it faster, but it didn't decide what my audience needed to see. I gave it direction. I made the changes, and I gave the final approval, because AI is a tool, but it still takes a human to know what to create, why it matters, and when it's actually good enough to publish.
Can you create a social media flyer with Adobe Express AI?
Yes. Adobe Express's Generate template feature turns a short text description into editable templates for flyers, social posts and posters, and Adobe says it's designed to be commercially safe for business and marketing use. AI gives you the layout and a first draft. You still decide the message, the audience, the branding and the call to action.

What this tutorial demonstrates
In the video, I start the flyer with Adobe Express AI, then do the human part: adjust the design, make the headline stand out, add a clear Save Your Seat call to action, and resize the finished flyer for LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook without starting over. The point isn't that AI made a flyer. It's that AI can't read your mind. It doesn't know your brand, your audience or what you're trying to accomplish until you tell it.
How to create a social media flyer with Adobe Express AI
These steps follow my workflow from the video. Where the video doesn't show a button, the step uses the wording from Adobe's current help pages, linked in the sources below.
- Open Adobe Express and start from a prompt. On the web, select the plus icon, then Quick actions > Generative AI > Generate template. Adobe suggests describing your design in five words or more.
- Generate the first draft. Describe the flyer, select Generate, pick the result closest to what you pictured, then select Edit template. Treat it as a draft, not a finished design.
- Customize colors and fonts. Use Theme in the left panel to try color themes (the shuffle icon cycles combinations), and use the font recommendations to find a pairing that matches your brand. I pushed the headline until it was the first thing you see.
- Add your own photo and branding. Upload your headshot or product photo from your device, or drag it into the editor. Remove Background for photos is included on every plan, per Adobe's pricing table (removing a video background is Premium). If you're on Premium, a Brand Kit applies your colors, fonts and logo in one click.
- Add a clear call to action. One action, in plain words. Mine is Save Your Seat. Use the Text panel to add it, and make it big enough to read on a phone.
- Resize for LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. Select Resize, choose a preset or a custom size, and use Duplicate & Resize to keep your original. Resizing a whole design is a Premium feature, per Adobe's help page. Then check every version by eye (more on that below).
- Review and export. Read every word out loud, check the date, time and link, then download. JPG, PNG and PDF are available on every plan. If you'd rather publish from Adobe Express, its Content Scheduler can post to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and other networks.

The Adobe Express AI prompt (suggested example)
The video doesn't show my exact prompt. This reusable template follows the same brief; fill in the brackets with details you've confirmed:
Create a professional social media flyer for [EVENT OR OFFER], designed for [AUDIENCE]. Use [BRAND STYLE OR COLORS], a bold headline, readable typography, room for [PHOTO OR PRODUCT], and a clear [CALL TO ACTION]. Format it for [PLATFORM AND DIMENSIONS]. Do not invent dates, prices, locations or offer details.
Here is the completed LinkedIn, Upgraded example from the original guide, not a verbatim prompt captured from the video:
Create a professional social media flyer for LinkedIn, Upgraded, a LinkedIn and AI content workshop hosted by Carlos Gil. Use a bold headline, readable typography, space for my headshot, and a Save Your Seat call to action. Do not invent a date, time, location, or price.
The last sentence matters. AI will happily fill blanks with made-up details, and a flyer with the wrong date is worse than no flyer.
From AI draft to final flyer
Before and after is about decisions, not a magic button. The AI draft gave me a layout. My changes, as shown in the video:
- The headline. I made it stand out so the workshop name is the first thing you read.
- The design. I adjusted it until it looked like something I'd put my name on, not a generic template.
- The call to action. I added a clear Save Your Seat, because a flyer without one is just decoration.
- The formats. I resized it for LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook instead of rebuilding it three times.
We haven't added before-and-after screenshots to this page; the video shows the actual workflow. We'd rather show you the real thing than recreate it.
Do you need Adobe Express Premium for this workflow?
You can create a usable flyer on Free. Brand Kits and resizing the whole design require Premium. Start with the format you need if you're staying on Free; don't confuse a free single-image resize quick action with resizing an editable, layered flyer.
| Workflow step | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Generate template / AI access | Editable AI templates are available; generative usage is limited | Editable AI templates with the plan's included generative allowance; limits still apply |
| Edit text, colors, fonts and images | Core editing with free assets and fonts | Core editing plus premium assets and fonts |
| Upload your own photos | Yes | Yes |
| Remove Background from a photo | Yes (Adobe's pricing table lists Remove Image Background on Free) | Yes; removing a video background is Premium-only |
| Brand Kits | Not included | Included |
| Resize the whole design | Not included; single-image and video quick actions are different | Included; Duplicate & Resize keeps your original |
| Export JPG, PNG or PDF | Yes | Yes |
These are the current Adobe plan details and whole-design Resize instructions, checked October 13, 2026. AI allowances can change; check your account's available credits rather than assuming unlimited generations. Adobe generally permits commercial use of Firefly outputs, except where a beta feature is expressly marked otherwise. That is not a blanket clearance for someone else's photo, logo or trademark: use assets you have permission to publish.
How to resize a social media flyer for different platforms
Resizing is where AI-assisted designs most often break. Text that sat comfortably in a square can end up crowded or cut off in a portrait crop. After resizing, check that the headline, your face and the call to action are all still visible and readable on a phone.
These are working-size recommendations, not a claim that every platform requires one exact organic-post size:
| Placement | Recommended working size | Why / caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Universal square | 1080 × 1080 (1:1) | A practical shared canvas for LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook; check each preview before posting |
| Instagram or LinkedIn portrait | 1080 × 1350 (4:5) | Adobe recommends this Instagram portrait canvas; 4:5 also fits LinkedIn's published image-ratio range |
| LinkedIn landscape | 1200 × 627 (about 1.91:1) | A practical landscape canvas within LinkedIn's allowed range, not its single mandatory organic size; LinkedIn recommends 1080 pixels wide |
| Facebook feed square | 1080 × 1080 (1:1) | A practical working size, not a universal official requirement for organic Facebook posts |
LinkedIn's native photo guidance allows ratios from 3:1 to 4:5 and recommends 1080 pixels wide. Adobe's Instagram size guide recommends 1080 × 1080 squares and 1080 × 1350 portraits. Adobe's Facebook size guide offers placement-specific guidance; an ad specification is not automatically an organic-post requirement.
A platform's native upload allowances and Adobe Express Content Scheduler's accepted feed range are different checks. Adobe's Content Scheduler media specifications accept Instagram business images from 4:5 to 1.91:1. That scheduler range is not a statement of every size Instagram accepts natively; check it before scheduling a taller design. Recheck every resized version: nothing should crowd the headline, cut off the photo, or bury the call to action.
Is Adobe Express good for beginners?
For this kind of job, yes. You don't need design experience to get a usable flyer: you start from a generated template, change text, swap photos and export. The limits are worth knowing upfront:
- The free plan is genuinely usable, but whole-design resizing and Brand Kits need Premium (US$9.99 a month with a 30-day free trial, per Adobe's US pricing page on October 13, 2026; prices vary by region).
- AI generations are limited. Free gets a limited number of daily generations (Adobe doesn't publish the number); Premium includes 250 generative credits a month.
- AI drafts need a human edit. Generated layouts can look generic until you make them yours.
Adobe Express isn't the only option. If you live in templates and want the biggest library, compare it with Canva in Canva vs Adobe Express. If you want Photoshop-style layers for free, see Photopea. Our Adobe Express review covers plans, limits and who should skip it.
The takeaway
AI helps with execution. Human creativity provides direction. Use Adobe Express to get from a blank page to a solid draft in minutes, then spend your time on what AI can't do: knowing your audience, sharpening the message, and deciding when it's good enough to publish.
